This is us.... aren't we cute?

Who we are:

My name is Jen, and I am a transplant to Toledo by way of Millersburg, Ohio, in the heart of Amish Country.  I moved to the Toledo area to go to college (at BGSU, the only GOOD school in the area.  ;-)), met a boy, and never left.  I work in social services as my day job.  Since moving to Toledo I’ve been surprised by how many local places there were at which to eat, but rarely had the guts to try any of them, choosing instead to stick to chain restaurants.  No more!  I want to have my favorite local places: my go-to pizza place, the best hummus in Toledo, egg rolls that are worth driving across town for…

On this journey, I’ll be joined by Josh, my long suffering husband, who is originally from Elmore but is now a Toledoian.  He is a tech geek by day, so he will be the brains behind anything pretty or creative on this blog. He’s pretty excited about this Toledo Food Tour because really, who doesn’t enjoy a project that involves eating?

We have a 3 year old daughter, Eden, who has a pretty wide palette for her age as long as we can get her to actually try things.  The kid loves wasabi pees, so clearly, she’s a tough cookie.  I really want part of this project to focus on the kid friendliness and creativity of kids menus.  There’s nothing wrong with mac and cheese, but I’m hoping I can get her to branch out a little.

We’ll also be joined by various friends and family members along the way so everyone can have their 15 minutes of fame.
